120 teachers starting work at educational institutions in Burgas this year received letters of appreciation at a ceremony held at Central Park. Organised by Burgas Municipality for the eleventh time, the event marked Bulgaria’s National Enlighteners’ Day.

Mayor Dimitar Nikolov and Municipal Council Chairman Mihail Hadzhiyanev congratulated the young educators on their decision to pursue a career in teaching. In his address, the Mayor reaffirmed the Municipality’s support and highlighted the importance of their knowledge and energy in helping the city’s children thrive.

The number of new teachers rose to 120 this year, up from 105 the previous year. They are joining teams at kindergartens, primary and secondary schools, vocational and specialised high schools across Burgas. Poet Yana Valcheva hosted the ceremony.
